UFC294 Fighters Miss Weight

Two combatants from UFC294 have failed to make the weight limit, with one of them having a particularly bad miss that threatened the fight.

Viktoriya Dudakova’s Strawweight Bout

Viktoriya Dudakova came in at 116.6 lbs. for her strawweight fight, missing the weight limit by 0.6 lbs. Despite this, her bout will still carry on, but she will be fined and 20% of her purse will go to her opponent, Jinh Yu Frey.

Mike Breeden’s Lightweight Fight

Mike Breeden also failed to meet the weight requirements, coming in at 159.5 lbs. for his lightweight bout with Road to UFC victor Anshul Jubli. This 3.5 lb. miss was enough to put the fight in jeopardy, but a UFC official has confirmed to Bloody Elbow that the fight is still going ahead.

Breeden was eventually cleared by the officials and, despite the discrepancy in weight, the undefeated Indian fighter Jubli still decided to accept the fight and continue with it.

Other Key Bouts on the Card

Other key fights on the card include the heavyweight matchup between Curtis Blaydes and Derrick Lewis, as well as the welterweight fight between Neil Magny and Geoff Neal.

Conclusion

Both Viktoriya Dudakova and Mike Breeden missed weight for their respective fights at UFC294, with Breeden’s particularly bad miss almost causing the cancellation of his bout. Despite this, both fights have been given the go-ahead by UFC officials, and the other key bouts on the card will also be proceeding as planned.
