Darren Till Leaves UFC

Darren Till, a one-time UFC welterweight title contender, unexpectedly left the organization in March after three consecutive losses. This was surprising as his last battle, a third-round submission to Dricus Du Plessis, had won Fight of the Night honors and UFC president Dana White had stated that Till’s standing with the promotion had not diminished.

Mental Struggles

Till had openly battled with his morale due to a series of injuries that had caused him to withdraw from a previously scheduled fight. He tweeted that he, Dana, and UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter were still on good terms and that he had asked the UFC to release him from his contract so he could take care of some other matters. The UFC agreed and Till expressed his gratitude.

Conclusion

Darren Till’s departure from the UFC was unexpected despite his recent losses, and was due to his mental struggles with injuries that had forced him to pull out of fights. He and the UFC remain on good terms, and Till has stated he has “big plans” for the future.
