Jon Jones Expresses Disappointment After Pulling Out Of UFC 295 Title Defense

Jon Jones has expressed his sorrow over having to withdraw from his upcoming UFC 295 title defense against Stipe Miocic. The heavyweight champion stated he was “very upset” and revealed he is about to undergo surgery.

“It’s a very sad situation, and I’m very upset,” Jon Jones said on Instagram. “But I’ve been through a lot of things in life, and injuries are a part of being an athlete.”

He went on to thank the UFC for getting him in touch with one of the top doctors in the country and expressed his regret to Stipe Miocic and his team. “I’m sorry to Stipe and his team,” he said. “Like I said, this comes with the territory.”

The heavyweight champion also confirmed that the plan is to rebook the Stipe Miocic fight as soon as he recovers.
