The most current cast member for the TV anime version of Tsuyoshi Yasuda’s manga, The Blue Wolves of Mibu (Ao no Miburo), has been revealed on the official website.

The vice-commander of the well-known Shinsengumi, Hijikata Toshiz, will be portrayed by Y hei Azakami. The series will star Shōichir Umeda as the primary character Nio, with the addition of a new cast member next week.

Maho Film is producing the anime, which is directed expertly by Kumiko Habara, who is well-known for her work on shows like I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives and I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss.

Kenta Ihara, whose past credits include Gamera -Rebirth- and I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss, is in charge of the series writing. Y ko ba and Miyako Nishida, who are both known for their work on I’m the Villainess and I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives, are the creators of the character designs.

The soundtrack is masterfully composed by Yuki Hayashi, with sound design by Toshiki Kameyama.

The manga, which Kodansha USA Publishing has licensed for English publication, tells the tale of Nio, an orphan who longs for a better life. This action-packed anime, which is set against a historical setting reminiscent of Rurouni Kenshin, tells the story of how a group of passionate and dynamic individuals, driven by their desire for justice and self-discovery, formed the Shinsengumi.

The manga was started by Tsuyoshi Yasuda in Kodansha’s Weekly Sh nen Magazine in October 2021, and on September 14th, the 10th compilation volume was published. The manga will be released in English in the spring of 2024.
