Sengoku Youko revolves around a world divided between humans and katawara, a species of creatures. Despite being a katawara, Tama harbors a deep love for humanity and pledges to protect them from malevolent forces, even if it means opposing her own kind.

Alongside her is her brother Jinka, whose disdain for humans persists, despite his own human-like nature. The duo encounters a timid swordsman named Shinsuke, who aspires to attain strength through their guidance.

Originally serialized in Mag Garden s Monthly Comic Blade magazine in 2007, the manga transitioned to the magazine s online platform after the print edition concluded in 2014. The series concluded with the 17th compiled volume in 2016, showcasing Mizukami s distinctive storytelling and art style.

As fans gear up for the premiere, Sengoku Youko promises an enthralling journey through a world of conflict, alliances, and the unbreakable bonds that transcend species. With the fusion of captivating arcs and a three-cour run, this adaptation is poised to be a standout in the upcoming anime season.
