A behind-the-scenes look at Netflix’s new animated series, which is based on the Devil May Cry video game franchise from CAPCOM, was revealed on Saturday.

Showrunner Adi Shankar, who is well-known for his work on Castlevania, is interviewed in the film, which also features a sneak peek at some recently animated scenes. The executive producer, Shankar, apologized to the audience for the production delay of the show via a brief statement.

A trailer for the series was released to Netflix users in September. The scripts for the first season of Yasuke were finished in November 2021 by Shankar and Alex Larsen.

The animation is done by Studio Mir, and there are plans for further seasons. Eight episodes will make up the first season, which will center on Dante, Vergil, and Lady. IGN had already stated that, without a clear release date, production would supposedly start in 2022.

In November 2018, Shankar made public his ownership of the series, announcing that it would be included in the “bootleg multiverse” with Castlevania. Notably, Madhouse’s 2007 12-episode television anime, which debuted on home video via ADV Films and then Funimation, was inspired by the Devil May Cry video game franchise. In June 2017, Crunchyroll started to stream the anime.

A special edition of Devil May Cry 5 was released in 2020 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The game was first released in March 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Bayonetta might satisfy you if you like Devil May Cry’s fast-paced action and stylish combat. Both games focus heavily on combo-driven, fluid action, giving players an exciting experience while taking on swarms of monsters. Fans of the genre’s high-adrenaline adventures will find Bayonetta to be a fitting option, as it embodies the essence of Devil May Cry with its exaggerated characters, violent boss battles, and supernatural themes.

Novels, manga, and a stage play crossover with Sengoku Basara have also been inspired by the game series. In March 2019, the stage drama Devil May Cry: The Live Hacker was shown in Tokyo.
