The Playlist website said on Thursday that director Chad Stahelski revealed details about a Japanese animation project that would be added to the John Wick franchise in an exclusive sneak peek for the next episode of The Discourse podcast.

The Playlist said that the podcast explored The Continental, the latest TV prequel to the franchise, and that Stahelski made references to both an anime and a second television series.

The Playlist, quoting Stahelski, expressed his excitement thus: “We’re looking forward to the second TV series; it’s really exciting because we’re diving into a Japanese anime.”

I’m incredibly excited to create the kind of compelling storytelling that anime excels at—possibly even better than we could—because I have a strong passion for Japanese animation. However, the TV show gives us the opportunity to expand our horizons; we’re getting our fix and enjoying ourselves immensely.

The director of the four John Wick movies from 2014 to this year, Stahelski, is also producing the Ballerina spinoff movie that will hit theaters the following year. Though he isn’t directly working on The Continental, he is still a major contributor to broadening his creative boundaries as he worked with Shinichiro Watanabe and MAPPA to design the action scenes for the science-fiction action anime on Adult Swim called Lazarus.

Stahelski demonstrated his abilities as a stunt actor in the live-action Fist of the North Star and as the supervising stunt coordinator in the live-action Speed Racer before moving into directing movies.

The brains behind the first three John Wick movies, Derek Kolstad, were reportedly hard at work in 2020, scripting and producing an anime Splinter Cell series for Netflix and Ubisoft.

You might like the anime Berserk if you like John Wick’s dramatic action and compelling narrative. Both have a visceral and gloomy tone, with expert fighters making their way through cruel and merciless environments.Berserkoffers is an intriguing option for people who enjoy the unrelenting action and depth found in the John Wick franchise since it It a similar blend of dramatic combat sequences, complex characters, and a serious analysis of the implications of a violent existence.

According to Deadline, Kolstad is also writing a screenplay for a live-action movie based on Sega’s Streets of Rage game and is concurrently working with Amazon Studios on a live-action version of Kouta Hirano’s Hellsing manga. Notably, John Wick star Keanu Reeves is also dabbling in anime. He wrote the BRZRKR comic series, which Production I.G is planning to turn into an anime series on Netflix.
