Tony Ferguson Prepares for UFC 296 with Hell Week Training

Ahead of his upcoming UFC 296 bout with Paddy Pimblett, Tony Ferguson has decided to take his training to the next level. The El Cucuy has recently put himself through the grueling Hell Week training, with the guidance of former Navy SEAL-turned-triathlete and best-selling author David Goggins. This decision has made some of his former colleagues anxious.

What is Hell Week?

For those unfamiliar with the term, Hell Week is a phase of a Navy SEAL’s training that involves extreme physical and mental challenges in order to push the individual to their limits. It lasts for five and a half days, with only four hours of sleep each night. In the worst cases, it can even lead to death.

Tony Ferguson’s Hell Week

Tony Ferguson’s version of Hell Week is, of course, different from the traditional form. According to Goggins’ post of their first day of training, the former interim champion went through three plus hours of high-intensity drills. This included running, swimming, and weightlifting exercises.

Conclusion

Tony Ferguson is certainly not taking any chances as he prepares for UFC 296. With the help of David Goggins, he is pushing himself to the limit with Hell Week training. It will be interesting to see if this extra effort pays off.
