Awajima Hyakkei Resumes Serialization
On November 17, Ohta Publishing announced through Twitter that Takako Shimura’s manga series, Awajima Hyakkei, will be returning to serialization on the 27th of November. Shimura herself confirmed the news on her own Twitter account, adding that the manga will be concluding with three more chapters.
Previous Serialization
The last chapter was published in August of 2022, after which the series went on a hiatus in 2019 before resuming monthly serialization in January of 2022. The series, which debuted in July of 2011 in Ohta Publishing’s PocoPoco online magazine, follows the lives of young girls attending an opera music school, with each chapter focusing on a different girl. The fourth compiled volume was released in August of 2022.
Takako Shimura
Takako Shimura, known for her works Wandering Son and Sweet Blue Flowers, which were both adapted into anime series in 2011 and 2009 respectively, also provided original character designs for Awajima Hyakkei.
